Manuel Palos

Manuel Palos has more than 50 years of experience in custom sculpture, restoration, and conservation projects. His work can be found internationally from private commissions to major public placements.

Originally from Zacatecas, Mexico, he came to work on the restoration of The San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts. Since then he has done many projects for the City and County of San Francisco. His work has included the restoration of the mythological figures at the Palace of Legion of Honor, Sculpting the Eagles atop the Pacific Telephone Building, and a hand-carved limestone fireplace for actor Nicolas Cage and many others.

Martin Distancia

Martin Distancia is an award-winning sculptor and stone carver. He has taught Plastic Arts and Ceramics at the University of Guadalajara and has received awards for his work in Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara. In 2002, in conjunction with Manuel Palos, he contributed his time to restore and carve the Arches, Los Arcos, in Puerto Vallarta after Hurricane Kenna.  Martin divides his time between Guadalajara working in his foundry, and Puerto Vallarta where he is available to assist in workshops.


Alejandra Palos, Operations Manager

Alejandra Palos coordinates and promotes the San Francisco Sculpture and Puerto Vallarta programs. She will be your host for all of the programs in Puerto Vallarta.  Currently, she is a Sculptor apprentice to her father Manuel Palos and exhibits her work in the San Francisco Bay Area.
